REACH FOR THE STARS: What Can You Explore? CLASS #6

Reach for the Stars – Final Week

Exploration & Looking Forward

Over the past several months, you have learned about the Sun, Moon, Solar System, Stars, and even how things work together here on Earth.

Now it’s time for our final question:

What will YOU explore next?

This week is all about exploration—looking back at what you’ve learned and looking forward to who you are becoming.

Habit Homework

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

Read the Habit 7 story:
“Sammy Squirrel’s Busy Day” from The 7 Habits of Happy Kids

This is our final habit—and it’s all about taking care of yourself so you can keep learning, growing, and exploring.

“Sharpen the Saw” means:

  • Resting your body
  • Learning new things
  • Spending time with people you love
  • Doing things that bring you peace and joy

This Week’s Challenge:

Choose 2–3 ways to “sharpen your saw” this week.

Ideas:

  • Go outside and enjoy nature
  • Read a book
  • Create something (food, art, music, building, etc.)
  • Spend time with family or help someone
  • Move your body (walk, play, stretch)
  • Take quiet time to think or pray

Be ready to share:

  • What did you do to sharpen your saw?
  • How did it help you feel?

Even explorers need to rest, grow, and prepare for their next adventure.

Astronomy Homework

You Are an Explorer & Creator

Scientists, creators, and astronauts all have something in common:

They explore.
They create.

So we are going to CREATE a song about what we love to explore.

Special Song Project (Quick Response Needed)

For our final class, I am creating a special class song using the students’ ideas.

To make this possible, please send me your child’s answers as soon as possible.

Please send by: MONDAY, APRIL 20

You can reply, text, or email—whatever is easiest.

Please answer 2–4 of the prompts below:

  • I love to wonder about: ______
  • I am happiest when: ______
  • Something I want to create is: ______
  • Something I want to explore is: ______
  • When I create something, I feel: ______
  • When I explore, I feel: ______
  • When I grow up, I hope I will: ______

Short, simple answers work best.

These answers will be used to help create our class song.

Looking Ahead

Think about:

What are you “launching” into the future?

Choose a word to put on your rocket:

  • Courage
  • Kindness
  • Curiosity
  • Creativity
  • Faith

Bring your idea—we’ll build it together.

Scripture Connection – Keep Learning

Read: Doctrine and Covenants 88:118

“Seek learning, even by study and also by faith.”

Think about:

  • What does it mean to seek learning?
  • How can you keep learning this summer?

Words to Know

  • Explore
  • Discover
  • Create
  • Curiosity
  • Launch

Night Sky Challenge (Optional)

Go outside and look at the night sky one more time.

  • Can you find something familiar?
  • Do you notice anything new?

Think about how much you’ve learned this year.
