- Watch the movie “McFarland USA“
- Make sure you watch to the end to see where everyone ended up in life after the snapshot of the movie was over. Where did most of the boys end up in life? Without Coach White, do you think they would have been given those opportunities? How did they choose to give back to their community?
Understand:
- Everyday we have choices to make and everyone of those choices takes us down a path. We may sometimes feel like the path we’re on was chosen for us or we don’t have any say in it, but we do as a result of our choices. We see this illustrated over and over in this movie. Coach White made a wrong choice to loose his temper and that set him on a new path. But he still got to choose his attitude and actions everyday. He chose to make the best of it and mentor youth and show them the potential they had for a future different that what they saw for themselves. What limiting beliefs do you have about your future? How can you get rid of them and reach for the stars and your dreams instead? What roadblocks have you set up for yourself that you can break down?
