HERE is your checklist!

1. Listen to the Europe Geography Song. Listen lots! When you are familiar with the song, start finding the countries on the map.  It is so easy to memorize things when we set words to music.  By now you should know Continents and Oceans and all of the states in the United States, Asia and Central/South America!  Pretty impressive.

2.  There are so many famous European landmarks! This month I want you to look up the following places and learn something about each one.  You will probably be familiar with several of them, so if you are, learn something new about it.  Draw each landmark on THIS MAP that you can print. (The map won’t be very big, so you’ll have to draw pretty small. )

Roman Colosseum

Arc De Triomphe

The Louvre

Big Ben

Eiffel Tower

Parthenon

Stonehenge

Buckingham Palace

Sistine Chapel

Neuschwanstein Castle

Leaning Tower of Pisa

3. Check out books on Europe from the library. Ask your mom. She may have a few already available for you. Picture books are my favorite way to learn!  Here are a few I suggested that your mom may have purchased.

Anno’s Journey

The Bard of Avo

Michaelangelo

The Champion Children: The Story of Janusz Korczak

Nathan Hale: Treaties, Trenches, Mud and Blood

Nathan Hale: Raid of No Return

Number the Stars (This is a longer book.  Our family is doing this one for read-a-loud.)

Ask your parents first, but a few I would recommend are:

England: Robin Hood

England: Peter Pan

England: Paddington Bear

England: Mary Poppins

England: Sword in the Stone

Austria: Sound of Music

Scotland; Brave

Norway: Frozen

France: Ever After

France: Madeline

France: Joan of Arc (There is a version by Living Scriptures)

France: Scarlet Pimpernel

Britain: Chariots of Fire

France: Ratatouille

East Germany: Night Crossing (A little heavy.)

Germany: The Boy in Striped Pajamas (Beautiful story.  WWII.)

Prepare for battle! Watch this video. You may want to create armor, a shield, bring your sword, build a catapult or a trebuchet. We are battling! Be prepared!

Dress warm 🙂 We will be outside. (If it’s too cold, we’ll go to the church!)

Project Life: Chores are an important part of family life.  Write about your chores.  Which ones do you enjoy?  Which ones do you dislike?  If you had a robot that could do your chores which ones would you have it do?
I bet one of your chores is cleaning your room.  Do you keep your room pretty clean or messy?  Do you prefer it one way or the other?

Happy birthday to Janie! Make her a card!
Happy birthday to Hyrum! Make him a card!
