Happy New Year everyone! 2024 is sure to be a transformational year for us all as we work with our Heavenly Father to create exciting, clear and meaningful visions of what you want and should be achieving this year.
I’d like to remind everyone that even if you haven’t read the book yet you are still welcome to attend class. You can still get a lot out of class. I would suggest though you do your best to do as much of the past lessons as possible and come ready to contribute to the conversations and activities we’ll be having this year.
This week’s homework:
- Read chapters 8 and 9 and come prepared to discuss what you’ve learned. Do your best with answering the questions and doing the exercises at the end of each chapter.
- Come prepared with your beginning 2024 vision board. It’ll be up to you what portions, if any, of your vision board you want to share with the group.
Creating a vision board is the most powerful step you can take to see success in your life based upon the things you’ve been learning in Psycho-Cybernetics. Setting clear goals and targets and then seeing clear visions of you achieving those goals is the only way to experience greater happiness and avoiding stagnation. You’ll achieve the best results creating your vision board if you partner with your Father in Heaven and counsel with Him in prayer and meditation. This will not be a one-time event but rather a step to jump start the process for you. And what better time to do this than at the New Year right! It’s such a wonderful time to refresh, to re-create yourself and re-dedicate yourself to truly living. We have one life, make it count! - As you’ll recall from the book, your self image needs to be very clear for your life to change for the better in any measure or degree. Here are the steps I’d like to have you take when creating your starting 2024 vision board:
a: Write down on paper or your journal at least 1 goal in all 4 life quadrants of life: intellectual, spiritual, social and physical. The goals you set should be exciting to you. Write down a description of that goal in as much detail as you can that helps you see yourself doing it. Consider the LDS goal setting resource here.
b: take whatever time you need to now close your eyes and do your best to see yourself and feel what it is like to have already achieved or experienced the goal you chose and wrote down in the previous step.
c: create or print some type of picture that clearly shows you what life looks like now that you have reached your goal? The image should also trigger the good winning feeling of having accomplished that goal.
d: after printing each image paste them on a board of your choice to hang on your wall in a place where you can see your vision board every day.
e: continue dwelling on each image each day as you make it a matter of prayer. Know the spiritual accomplishment of each of your goals you have already experienced in your mind will become a reality as you move forward with acting in faith.
