IT’S TIME
This Thursday (May 2) is our Vanguard World’s Fair!
I am so excited to see your projects and for you to share your projects with everyone.
I know everyone has been working so hard and I am so proud of every one of you!
there will be an opportunity to receive an award, so make sure you put your best foot forward!
Everyone’s projects are unique and cannot be judged in the same way.
We are not awarding prizes for your project, per se, but we will be giving awards for the following things:
AWARDS:
- Grand Prize, will be awarded to the most outstanding presentation and trifold board.
- Best Presentation
- Best Tri-fold board
- Honorable Mention
Important things to remember:
PRESENTATION GUIDELINES:
You have 2 MINUTES to present about your project.
I ENCOURAGE you to be VERY creative!!
- Your presentation COULD be a speech, but it could also be a drum solo or a magic show, it could be a short skit, a monologue in costume, sing a song, it could be a video presentation, it could be a dance solo, there are so many possibilities!! Those are just a few suggestions.
- Now MAKE SURE YOU READ THIS: . . . 2 minutes. . That is all the time you will get. I will cut you off, but first I will warn you when you have 20 seconds left, then 10 seconds left, and then 5, 4, 3, 2,1 . . . wrap it up. You can practice at home with a timer. I do recommend it.
- NOTE: If you are interested in winning an award for your presentation ASK YOUR MOM FOR SUGGESTIONS! Mom’s have lots of experience and know how to find the answers you need!
TRI-FOLD BOARD GUIDELINES:
- Make sure your board is visually interesting. If you aren’t satisfied with your board you still have time to update it. If you enjoy looking at it everyone else will too! =)
- Please be at least 10-15 minutes early to set up your tri-fold board/display.
- NOTE: If you are interested in winning an award for you board ASK YOUR MOM FOR SUGGESTIONS! You will be glad you did! Show her what you have done and ask her if there are any ways you can improve your board.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
- It is recommended to dress nicely. Wear clean clothes and nice shoes, I recommend BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL This is a good practice for any future interviews.
- If you do not have these clothes available to you, IT IS OKAY, just wear your Sunday Best.
- Still don’t know what to wear? . . . . Ask your mom.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
Here’s how the evening will go:
5:45/5:50 – arrive and set up your tri-fold board display
6:00 – dinner with families
6:35 – PRESENTATION TIME
7:15 – hang out by your tri-fold boards while families browse and ask questions about your projects.
7:45 – awards announced
7:50 – clean-up
8:00 – Head home! Enjoy your summer.
